Moldova to benefit from grant from US to overcome energy crisis

Chisinau, Nov. 8 /MOLDPRES/- Minister of Finance Dumitru Budianschi and Mission Director for the US Agency for International Development (USAID) Moldova Scott Hocklander signed the amendment to the Development Objective Agreement on 7 November, through which our country will be offered financial aid to overcome the energy crisis.

According to USAID, the amendment provides assistance funds as a grant worth 30 million dollars for the reimbursement of electricity purchases.

"Also, the Amendment unlocks assistance worth 19.5 million dollars, for projects aimed at strengthening the energy security of the Republic of Moldova and reducing dependence on Russia", the quoted source said.
