Moldova to have new strategy of capital market's development
Moldova will have a new Strategy of capital market’s development for 2025-2030. A draft for its approval has been put up for public consultations. The proposals and objections on the document can be submitted till 17 February 2025.
The draft Strategy was worked out by the National Commission of Financial Market (CNPF) and its concept provides for the creation of a dynamic, transparent and attractive environment for investors and companies, thus contributing to the country’s economic development.
The goals of the new Strategy regard the enhancement of the access to financing through consolidating the companies’ capacities to create bids of financing on the capital market; widening of the basin of investors, to enhance the demand and the liquidity of the market; increase in the number of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to capital market; modernization of the infrastructure and strengthening the capacities of the capital market’s ecosystem; adjusting of the legal and regulatory framework to EU’s standards and regulations.
The draft contains a detailed analysis of the present capital market, of the financial instruments available, of the degree of involvement of entities and investors, as well as an assessment of the economic evolution and the structure of the corporate sector.
Also, the Strategy identifies the strong and weak points of diverse market segments, including the regulations and gaps which limit the development of the capital market.
The draft is focused on the diversification of the financing sources for the corporate and state sectors, facilitating the access to capital for SMEs, protection of investors’ rights and enhancement of the transparency, thus contributing to Moldova’s sustainable economic development.
After the procedures of approval and public consultation are finished, the draft law on the approval of the national Strategy of development of the capital market from Moldova for 2025-2030 is to be considered at a cabinet meeting and will be subsequently submitted to parliament for consideration.
