President of Romania Nicusor Dan was welcomed by Maia Sandu at the State Residence. The Romanian head of state is on an official visit to Moldova on the occasion of Romanian Language Day.





“Mr. President Nicusor Dan, we are happy to have you with us again in Chisinau, in order to celebrate the Romanian Language Day together. Happy Romanian Language Day to all who speak Romanian!” Maia Sandu said.

Together with President Maia Sandu, Nicusor Dan attends more events dedicated to the national holiday. The two officials greeted approximately 2,000 participants in the Great National Dictation, organized on the National Assembly Square, and laid flowers at the bust of poet Mihai Eminescu on the Alley of Classics. Subsequently, Nicusor Dan and Maia Sandu went to Straseni, where they are to open the festive concert dedicated to the Romanian language.





In a recent statement, the President of Romania emphasized Bucharest's strong support for the European path of Moldova and noted that the cultural and linguistic ties between the two states represented a solid foundation of the bilateral partnership.

President of Romania Nicusor Dan visited Moldova on June 10, marking his first official visit to the country after his election as Romanian head of state.





Last year, on Romanian Language Day, President Klaus Iohannis paid a visit to  Chisinau and delivered a strong message of support for the European aspirations of Moldova.
