Moldovan government amends road fund programme for 2025, with emphasis on safety, maintenance of national roads
The government, at today's meeting, approved amendments to the Program for the allocation of Road Fund resources for the maintenance and repair of national public roads, in order to ensure the full carrying out of planned works by late 2025.
According to the decision, available resources in the Road Fund will be redistributed according to expenditure chapters, based on current needs for the maintenance of roads’ network and the enhancement of the road safety level.
“Activities include works of preparation for the winter period, including the purchase of anti-skid materials; repairs of roads and bridges; maintenance of areas adjacent to roads and sidewalks; strengthening shoulders and ensuring water drainage; and caring for protective plantations,” the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development (MIDR) said.
The ministry noted that these measures would allow for the efficient and full use of the financial resources allocated in 2025, directly contributing to the improvement of traffic conditions and the enhancement of road infrastructure’s safety.
Through the implemented changes, the government aims to ensure not just the continuity of repair and maintenance works, but also the proper preparation of national roads for the cold season, MIDR added.
