
Moldovan president says danger is great, but people's strength must be greater
President Maia Sandu has addressed all citizens before the parliamentary elections due on September 28, emphasizing that the sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and European future of Moldova were under major threats.
"The Kremlin is spending hundreds of millions of euros, in order to buy hundreds of thousands of votes on both sides of the Dniester and also outside the country. People are daily poisoned with numerous lies. Hundreds of individuals are paid, in order to incite disorder, violence and to intimidate the public," the Moldovan president said.
The head of state urged citizens not to allow the country to be handed over to foreign interests and emphasized that the true national interest lied in peace, freedom, economic development the fight against corruption, European integration, and the modernization of communities. "The danger is great, but our strength must be even greater. Let us be worthy of our Moldova! Let us not sell it to thieves and not allow others to sell it," President Maia Sandu emphasized.
