Moldovan parliament approves rectification of state budget

Chisinau, 31 July /MOLDPRES/ – The Parliament has approved at its plenary meeting, on Wednesday, 31 July, the draft regarding amending the law of the state budget (BS) for 2019.

The project has been presented to MPs by Minister of Finance, Natalia Gavrilita. According to minister, the BS revenues are forecast in the amount of MDL 40,633 bln, with a reduction of MDL 1,492 bln, or 3.6 per cent of the approved budget. Also, the expenses will amount up to MDL 46,336 bln, by MDL 1,327 bln less than approved. Under these terms, the budget deficit (DB) gets up to MDL 5,7 bln.

The revenues of BS decrease, in particular, from the income of projects financed from external sources – by MDL 318,3 mln (because the projects were not executed as planned), from the account receipts from taxes – by MDL 307,3 mln, as well as from grants – with MDL 174 mln.

According to the Ministry of Finance (MF), the execution of the national public budget (BNP) within first 06 months of 2019 ended with a budget balance (BB) of MDL 2.1 bln.

Speaker of Parliament, Zinaida Greceanii, has asked the authors to finalise the project and suggest it for approval in IInd reading over 10 days, during an extraordinary session of Parliament.
