
Moldovan wines' export record highest level of last five years in first nine months of 2019
Chisinau, 19 November /MOLDPRES/ - Both the export of Moldovan wines and their value recorded the highest level of the last five years in the first nine months of 2019. The National Office of Vine and Wine (ONVV) have unveiled data to this effect.
According to ONVV, in the first nine months of 2019, Moldova exported 113.8 million litres of wine, up by 4.3 per cent or by 4.72 million litres more against the same period of the year before. Moreover, Moldovan agricultural goods conquered new sales markets; thus, the map of exports has extended by several regions, including on other continents. More exactly, Moldova exported wine to 67 countries worth 2.182 billion lei, which is by five per cent more than in the first nine months of 2018.
ONVV noted that the exports of wines to European and Asian continents’ countries were on the rise. Romania continues to be a strategic market and ranks first according to the volume of financial connections got from wines’ export. It is followed by China, Russia, the Czech Republic and Ukraine. On the other hand, the countries where Moldova exports most of all are Russia, Poland, Romania, the Czech Republic and China.
In January-September 2019, Moldovan wines were exported to 67 countries; some of them were conquered for the first time ever: Afghanistan, Syria, Togo, Guam. At the same time, after a break of several years, Moldova’s wine again reached consumers from Australia, Norway and Libya.
