Local Product exhibition returns to Moldexpo on August 28–30
The 2nd edition of Local Product exhibition will be held on August 28–30, 2026 at the International Exhibition Center Moldexpo and will bring together over 300 companies from across the country, which will present visitors with the best products manufactured in the Republic of Moldova. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova (CCI) announced today the opening of registrations for the event, and local entrepreneurs can submit their participation files until July 31.
Companies from all sectors of the national economy may participate in the event, including the agri-food, industrial and services sectors. The organizers estimate that the Exhibition will gather over 300 local producers, who will have the opportunity over the course of three days, on an area of more than 2,300 square meters, to present the highest quality and most diverse products created in the Republic of Moldova.
CCI head Sergiu Harea said today at a press conference that the purpose of the event is to support and promote local producers, especially during the period when many compatriots living abroad return home, “who are the best ambassadors of quality products manufactured in the Republic of Moldova.”
Sergiu Harea added that the organizers aim to turn the Exhibition into a national tradition, dedicated to promoting producers and products manufactured in the Republic of Moldova, thus strengthening respect for local work and support for the national economy. The CCI President emphasized that registrations for the event will be processed on a “first come, first served” basis and urged companies to submit their applications for participation by July 31. The organizers expect the exhibition to be visited by 40,000–50,000 people over the three days of the program.
The acting director of the Moldexpo Center, Zinaida Popa, said that the Local Product Exhibition is an important platform through which Moldovan companies can present their achievements, identify new partners and strengthen their position on the market.
“In recent years, producers from the Republic of Moldova have proven that they can successfully compete on international markets, and this exhibition is an excellent opportunity to showcase their work, professionalism and innovative spirit,” said Zinaida Popa.
The 2026 edition, which carries the slogan “Local Product – Tradition and Pride!”, brings a series of new features meant to showcase the cultural, gastronomic and economic heritage of the Republic of Moldova.
On the first day of the Exhibition, August 28, the "Parade of Traditional Attire" will be organized, an event that will celebrate the country’s traditions and cultural values. Visitors will be able to admire authentic folk costumes, clothing collections inspired by traditional motifs, creations by folk craftsmen and local designers, as well as an artistic program dedicated to Moldovan cultural heritage.
On the second day, August 29, the organizers have prepared one of the key premieres of this edition – the National Pie Festival, organized in partnership with the National Association of Bakery and Milling Industries, under the suggestive slogan “Forward to Pies, Back to the Barrel”. The Festival will highlight Moldovan gastronomic traditions, the craftsmanship of bakers and producers in the baking industry. The highlight of the event will be the creation of the largest sour cherry pie in the Republic of Moldova. The public will have the opportunity to take part in culinary demonstrations, tastings of traditional products, and interactive activities organized together with specialized educational institutions.
Also on August 29, the first edition of the "Top Wineries 2026" Gala will take place, a national competition dedicated to promoting performance and excellence in the wine sector. The best wineries in the Republic of Moldova will be awarded during a special ceremony, complemented by tastings, masterclasses and thematic presentations dedicated to Moldovan wine culture.
The Exhibition will be complemented by an extensive artistic program that will include folk music recitals, performances by folklore ensembles and dance groups, ethno-folk shows and concerts given by renowned performers from the Republic of Moldova. The event will conclude with a gala concert dedicated to local producers and the laureates of the "Top Wineries 2026" competition.
The event is organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova, under the patronage of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization of the Republic of Moldova, with the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA) as strategic partner. The exhibition also benefits from the support of the International Exhibition Center Moldexpo, the National Association of Bakery and Milling Industries, central and local public authorities, business organizations and development partners.
