European MP says Moldova in 2026 to continue to receive European support, to continue EU accession process
Moldova will continue to benefit, in 2026, from European support, in order to continue its EU accession process. MEP Siegfried Muresan gives assurances to this end at the beginning of the year.
The European official presented more good news for the people of Moldova, applicable starting from January 1. This includes the accession to Roam like Home, allowing citizens to enjoy internet and phone calls without additional charges when traveling in the European Union, just like all EU citizens.
“The second piece of news concerns the country's accession to the Creative Europe Programme, through which artists and the cultural sector in Moldova will be supported. Thus, cultural and artistic exchanges between Moldova and other countries will be funded from the EU Budget. European integration brings concrete and immediate benefits for people,’’ remarked Siegfried Muresan.
In the context, the MEP offered assurances that European partners would ‘’continue to support Moldova in the European integration process.’’
In last mid-December, Moldova initiated technical discussions on the first negotiation chapters for EU accession. The Moldovan authorities emphasize that this stage marks a crucial phase of accession negotiations, which will underpin future progress in Moldova's process of integration into the European Union.
