Moldovan President meets with Ukraine's President in Kyiv

The Presidency of the Republic of Moldova

President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu had today, in Kyiv, a bilateral meeting with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of Ukraine – South-East Europe Summit.

The two heads of state discussed the security situation in the region and the support Ukraine needs to withstand Russian aggression and to achieve a just and lasting peace. President Maia Sandu reaffirmed the full solidarity of the Republic of Moldova with the Ukrainian people, including through our country’s participation in the Coalition of Willing. Particular attention was given to cross-border cooperation, which brings the two countries closer together and strengthens the resilience of the region.

The Republic of Moldova and Ukraine are advancing on their European path – in the last month, both have opened accession negotiations on two clusters of chapters.
