New Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization of Moldova sworn in office
New Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Doina Nistor today was sworn in office during an official ceremony held at the Presidency’s headquarters.
President Maia Sandu wished success to Doina Nistor, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization in the government of Moldova. “Thank you for accepting this challenge. Economic growth and development are quite important for strengthening democracy,” emphasized the head of state.
The president also said that Moldova was facing a complicated period, with the national economy affected by Russia's war against Ukraine. Therefore, increased efforts are needed to enhance competitiveness and attract investments to the country.
“The EU-supported economic growth plan is an important programme. It is your task, along with your team, to implement this plan as effectively as possible, so that we can support economic development and improve the living standards for as many citizens of Moldova as possible,” added the head of state.
President Maia Sandu thanked the former Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, Dumitru Alaiba, and emphasized that, thanks to the reforms in recent years, the country had become more open and friendly to entrepreneurs.
