Moldovan PM meets Dutch counterpart

Prime Minister Vasile Tofan In New York has had talks with Prime Minister of the Netherlands Rob Jetten. The two officials discussed support for Moldova’s European path and the development of economic cooperation between the two countries.

Prime Minister Vasile Tofan praised the Netherlands’ support for Moldova’s integration into the European Union and reviewed developments related to the accession negotiations.

Another topic of the meeting was the development of the economic cooperation between the two countries. The PMs discussed investment opportunities of Moldova and attracting more Dutch companies to the country’s market.

“The Netherlands is an example of how a relatively small country can have a strong economy, solid institutions and an important voice in Europe. There are many aspects of this experience that could also be useful to us,” said Prime Minister Vasile Tofan.

The Moldovan prime minister stressed that the Netherlands is an important partner in the modernization of Moldova. Dutch support for the country focuses on strengthening democratic institutions and resilience, combating disinformation and corruption, cybersecurity, justice reform and advancing the European agenda.
