Headmasters of Moldova's education institutions, Interior Ministry's employees to receive higher salaries
Chisinau, 11 February /MOLDPRES/ - The headmasters of kindergartens, schools and colleges will receive higher salaries by an average of 1,000-1,200 lei. The cabinet today approved needed amendments, in order to motivate some categories of employees, whose salaries were not increased following the implementation of the new law on wage payment, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
To remove the present deficiencies, decision-makers will increase the minimum reference values for the calculation of salaries of about 4,000 persons holding leadership offices at education institutions.
Under the same document, the salaries of non-commissioned officers, as well as of officers of the Interior Ministry (MAI) will increase too. In this case, the growths will be of about 500 and 800 lei, from which 9,500 MAI employees will benefit.
Also, under the same draft, five advisers of the National Agency for Settlement of Claims will have higher revenues. The amendments were necessary, as these persons were receiving higher salaries than their subordinates.
As much as 138 million lei is needed to make the increases – money provided for in the state budget. The introduction of amendments to the state budget law for this year was approved by the government by taking responsibility. According to the same principle, at the today’s meeting, the cabinet approved another six drafts.
„It was necessary for us to do this, taking into account the reduced functionality of the parliament now. You have seen that we analyzed a bit and came up with adjustings to the law on wage payment and with other important things which we had to do and which cannot be postponed until we have another functional legislative body,” Prime Minister Pavel Filip said.
