List of eligible beneficiaries for national culture fund project financing to be expanded
Projects and programs for artistic and cultural residency and mobility, funded from the National Culture Fund will be selected based on a new Regulation, approved by the Government.
The document will facilitate the implementation of initiatives promoting contemporary creation, cultural diversity, and international cooperation in the field. Besides non-commercial organizations, other cultural organizations, independent artists, creators, and/or local public administrations will also be able to participate in the competitions.
At the same time, the institutional capacities of local public authorities will be improved in organizing competitions, project management, and monitoring their implementation. Thus, local authorities will become active players in carrying out cultural projects.
The regulation creates premises for developing partnerships between public institutions, non-governmental organizations, and cultural entities from other countries, thus contributing to the promotion of national culture and integration into European and international cultural networks.
Additionally, an efficient and transparent administration of the National Culture Fund's resources will be ensured, which in 2025 has a total budget of 30 million lei. The institution responsible for implementing the projects is the National Office for Culture Development.
The new Regulation was developed based on the experience and recommendations of representatives from civil society, artists, cultural organizations, and local public authorities.
