President Maia Sandu this weekend met representatives of the Moldovan Diaspora in Potsdam, Germany. The head of state emphasized the essential role of overseas communities in supporting the country's European path and in strengthening national unity.

‘’I met so nice people in Potsdam! Families don't always live under the same roof, but they remain families – and so do we, Moldovans. Wherever our paths take us, we stay united through our connection to Moldova and through our wish to see it peaceful, free, and prosperous,’’ Maia Sandu said.

The Moldovan president called for civic responsibility and involvement, highlighting that the current moment was decisive for Moldova’s future.

‘’Today, more than ever, Moldovans everywhere must show awareness, involvement, integrity and courage. The choices we make now will decide whether we succeed in building a strong, united and respected country worldwide – a Moldova that, in the near future, will be part of the European Union,’’ the head of state stressed.

The meeting in Potsdam is part of a string of discussions Maia Sandu has with the Moldovan Diaspora in various countries, in the context of boosted efforts to bring  Moldova closer to the European Union.
