
Moldovan Diaspora to contribute to development of public policies
Chisinau, 31 May /MOLDPRES/ – The Moldovan Diaspora’s representatives will involve more actively in Moldova's social and economic development. To this end, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the signing of an Agreement between the Moldovan Government and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) today, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The document comes to support initiatives to promote national identity, including the cultural and linguistic values of Moldova. The measure also improves communication between Diaspora representatives and authorities and ensures their involvement in public policy development.
Also, the Agreement will help to maintain effective cooperation in the field of migration and national development, to strengthen the positive impact of the migration phenomenon through the involvement of high skilled professionals from the Diaspora in the socio-economic development of Moldova, applying the transfer of knowledge acquired abroad.
The IOM will allocate a grant of $200,000 for Agreement’s implementation.
