Moldovan, OSCE officials broach cooperation
Chisinau, 30 October /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Foreign and European Integration Minister Valeriu Chiveri met Special Representative of the OSCE Chairmanship for Transnistrian conflict settlement Radojko Bogojevic on 29 October, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry's communication and media relations service has reported.
The officials discussed the current situation in the Transnistrian conflict settlement and cooperation between Moldova and OSCE. Chiveri said the Moldovan authorities opted for continuing the dialogue, evoking the activity of the sectoral working groups. In this context, they noted that meetings of the working groups in the education and telecommunication sectors would be held in the near future.
At the same time, the Moldovan official spoke out for solving the problems faced by farmers in Dubasari district, to whom access to the farmlands was restricted. Chiveri said such problems could be settled only by agreements reached at the table of negotiations. He added that the decisions and unilateral actions taken by the Transnistrian structures led to the worsening of the situation. In the context, they stressed the need to maintain stability in the Security Zone.
Referring to the cooperation between Moldova and OSCE, the officials pointed out the preliminary goals for 2015, when Serbia takes over the presidency. Also, the officials exchanged opinions on the preparations for the meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Bazel on 4-5 December.
Bogojevic paid a visit to Moldova on 27-30 October, to hold meetings in Chisinau and Tiraspol, meant to identify ways of advancing the Transnistrian conflict settlement.
