Moldovan parliament to coordinate development of legislative fremawork for Moldova's reintegration
Chisinau, 25 July /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament is to coordinate the development of an intermediate legislation to strengthen negotiators’ mandate for Moldova’s reintegration. Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu made a statement to this effect at a today’s meeting of the parliamentary platform of consultation and parliamentary control for carrying out the policy of Moldova’s reintegration, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
“We should be firmly bent, in the parliament’s autumn session, on coming up with a legislative package, due to provide a friendly framework to negotiators and every needed support for the country’s reintegration. Regretfully, during 20 years, no solutions have been found to everything which means a clear-cut legislation due to offer a mandate to negotiators. At the next meeting, we will discuss also a vision on the special status and with eventual actions included in a roadmap for the Transnistrian conflict settlement,” Andrian Candu said.
The main subjects discussed at the meeting were focused on the results of the Bavaria annual conference, situation in the Transnistrian region, latest evolutions and prospects in the Transnistrian conflict settlement. The meeting of the parliamentary platform took place in the context of a visit to Moldova by OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Foreign Minister of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier on 25-26 July.
Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Gheorghe Balan unveiled reports on the topic. The official voiced hope that the Bavaria Conference, held in the Bad Reichenhall town from Germany on 12-13 July, would stimulate the achievement of common goals of Transnistrian problem settlement. The annual conference titled, Confidence Building Measures in Transnistrian Conflict Settlement Process, represents a platform of dialogue, meant to analyze developments in the activity of the sectoral working groups from Chisinau and Tiraspol, contribute to identifying solutions on the agenda of talks and back the settlement process. The conference works were divided into three topic-related workshops: education, transport and telecommunications.
