
Moldovan PM says country has clear goal - edifying European Moldova at home, together with Romania
Chisinau, 21 June /MOLDPRES/ - Developments in the implementation of the joint projects and the carrying out of the rich bilateral agenda between Moldova and Romania today were discussed at a meeting between Prime Minister Dorin Recean with Romanian PM Marcel Ciolacu, on an official visit to Chisinau, along with President of the Senate Nicolae Ciuca. The officials reiterated the confidence that the Moldovan-Romanian relations would continue advancing, through the implementation of concrete projects, from which the people on the two banks of Prut will benefit, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The Moldovan PM appreciated the support and solidarity proved by the Romanian authorities, highlighting the assistance provided to Moldova to manage the crises, as well as Romania’s unconditional backing for the irreversible European integration way. Presently, the institutions of the two countries cooperate in sectors, in order to speed up the transformations due to bring Moldova into the European Union.
„The relations with Romania are the strongest ones in the last three decades and we want them to stay like this. We construct, together, the interconnection infrastructure – roads, bridges, energy networks. At the same time, Romania helps and supports us in our effort to start the negotiations on accession to the European Union,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.
According to the Moldovan PM, among the common goals, set for the next period, are there are the creation of a common digital space, easing of the border traffic, boosting the cooperation in the energy and trade fields and, as a priority, the maintaining of a friendly environment for the attraction, in continuation, of investors in the economy of both states.
„We invite you to explore the investment opportunities provided by Moldova, as well as to create a common digital space, for the benefit of the citizens on both banks of the Prut river: recognition of the electronic signatures, developing the electronic public services, exchange of data, facilitating investments and the innovating entrepreneurship in the information technology field and ensuring the cyber security,’’ the Moldovan PM noted.
The sides discussed also the carrying out of those nine projects for the second installment of the non-refundable assistance worth 100 million euros, provided by Romania. The proposals submitted for financing amount to 28 million euros. ‘’Due to Romania, we manage to create better conditions in kindergartens, to modernize our settlements, to improve the first medical aid. We have a clear goal – we edify Moldova at home, together and along with friends. Together with Romania. To succeed, we need unity, organization and very much work,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean stressed.
For his part, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu emphasized that, in the next weeks, the Romanian government would approve the financial resources for projects on drinking water and sewerage in villages of Moldova. At the same time, he reiterated the Romanian state’s support on all dimensions of the process of Moldova’s development and integration into the European Union. ‘’We are obliged to find the best solutions, so that the citizens feel an enhancement of the living standards. Moldova’s future is in the European Union and we will back this approach, taking into account all challenges which we are to overcome together,’’ Romanian PM Marcel Ciolacu said.
