
Moldovan president participates in opening of 77th United Nations General Assembly
Chisinau, 20 September /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu, along with Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu and colleagues from Moldova’s Delegation today participated in the opening of the works of the United Nations General Assembly, the presidential press service has reported.
During two days, the head of state will meet, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, Moldova’s partners from all over the world, in order to discuss the solidary response to the economic and security challenges faced by the planet at present, how we ensure peace, democracy and freedom of everybody.
The subject of the UN General Assembly this year is, A watershed moment: transformative solutions to interlocking challenges. On 21 September, President Maia Sandu will give a speech, during which she will unveil Moldova’s opinion on the subject (estimated at 12:00 local time/20:00 Chisinau time).
