Parliament speaker, U.S. Ambassador discuss strengthening Moldovan-American partnership
Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has met new Ambassador of the United States to Moldova Joseph Mark Burkhalter. The discussions focused on cooperation in the field of energy security, the development of trade relations and the attraction of U.S. investments, as well as on boosting the parliamentary dialogue.
Igor Grosu wished the ambassador success in carrying out his mandate and expressed the parliament’s openness to close cooperation. The speaker emphasized the importance of the partnership with the United States for the independence, security and development of Moldova and thanked the United States for its constant support for the country, including through bipartisan support in the U.S. Congress.
In the context of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, which will be marked in 2027, the parliament speaker emphasized the wish to make the most of this occasion through projects and initiatives that would bring tangible benefits to citizens and strengthen the friendship between the two countries.
