Chișinău, October 5, 2026 – Parliament is hosting the painting exhibition Homeland, which brings together works by students of Mihai Bătrânu School of Arts in Dondușeni city. The exhibition presents the public with landscapes, places and symbols of the locality, as well as elements inspired by the lives and experiences of the young artists.

The exhibited works reflect the students’ vision of their native places and include landscapes, representative buildings, flowers, musical instruments and characters. To create them, the young artists used various techniques and materials, including gouache, varnish and oil painting on canvas.

Painting teacher Tatiana Lucovețchi said that the exhibition is a way to promote the locality and share with the public the beauty and energy of their native places. “For us, it is an honor to be present with this exhibition at Parliament – an exhibition that showcases colors and forms, the result of years of study. In recent years, through our works, we have promoted our hometown and its interesting places. We have set out to become a beautiful part of the history of our locality, as well as of the entire country. We have participated in various national and international competitions in North Macedonia, Finland, Romania and the Czech Republic, and we returned with prizes,” Tatiana Lucovețchi said.

For the students, the exhibition at Parliament is an opportunity to express themselves and speak about the places they come from, to which they are connected by memories and emotions. “The exhibition is a wonderful opportunity for us to present our homeland. Through these works, we show our respect, love and connection to our roots,” said Camelia Griș from the village of Țaul, Dondușeni district, the author of the work “The Windmill.”

Mihai Bătrânu School of Arts in Dondușeni has been operating for approximately 60 years. Currently, more than one hundred students study in its music and painting departments. Over the years, the institution has trained several artists, including painters Anatol Danilișin and Arcadie Răileanu. For many of the school’s graduates, their artistic studies continue at specialized institutions, including Alexandru Plămădeală College of Fine Arts in Chișinău.

The exhibition will be open to visitors at Parliament until the end of October, offering the public the opportunity to discover, through the eyes of young artists, their native places and the way traditions, people and landscapes from Dondușeni are reflected in their art.
