Prime Minister Vasile Tofan has had a phone conversation with Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis. The officials discussed strengthening bilateral relations, Moldova’s European path and expanding the economic cooperation.

The Moldovan PM presented the progress made by Moldova in the European Union accession process and emphasized the authorities’ objective of advancing negotiations at a sustained pace, including by opening the remaining clusters.

An important topic of the conversation was the cooperation in the energy sector. The two officials discussed strengthening Moldova’s energy security, diversifying supply sources and routes, as well as leveraging regional energy infrastructure and projects.

The two prime ministers noted the potential for developing economic relations and the growing interest of Greek companies in Moldova, particularly in the fields of energy, infrastructure, transport and logistics. In last March, Moldova hosted the largest Greek business mission to date, with the participation of more than 60 business representatives.

The prime ministers agreed to maintain an active dialogue and expand contacts between the institutions and business communities of the two countries, so that existing opportunities can be translated into new projects and investments.
