Moldovan head of state meets Most Right Reverend Petru, Archbishop of Chisinau, Metropolitan of Bessarabia, Exarch of the Lands

The Presidency of the Republic of Moldova

President Maia Sandu has met Most Right Reverend Petru, Archbishop of Chisinau, Metropolitan of Bessarabia and Exarch of the Lands, on the eve of the Holy Easter Holidays.

The discussion was occasioned by the nearing of the most important Christian holiday – the Resurrection of the Lord – a moment of reflection, reconciliation and hope. The head of state emphasized the importance of maintaining peace, understanding and solidarity in the Moldovan society. Maia Sandu and Metropolitan Petru highlighted the crucial role of the Church in promoting good understanding among people and strengthening the community spirit, based on compassion, faith and mutual support.
