
Two pupils, winners of competition in USA awarded honorary diplomas by Moldovan president
Chisinau, May 21 / MOLDPRES /- Today President Maia Sandu awarded Honorary Diplomas to Cosmin Ciorbă, 11th grade pupil at Ion Creangă High School, and Andrei Copaci, 12th grade pupil at Prometeu-Prim High School from capital. The diplomas were awarded for the third place, with which they recently returned from Regeneron ISEF, an international competition of sciences and engineering in the USA, the presidential press service has reported.
Young inventors from Moldova have won the category of Robotics and Intelligent Machines, for a project that involves the automatic replacement of drone batteries. The head of state appreciated their creativity and ingenuity, and mentioned that, in this way, they also contribute to the promotion of our country's image in the world.
"I talked to Andrei and Cosmin about the school, about the effort made to reach this award and about the future plans they have. I thanked them for their perseverance and encouraged them not to lose their passion for science and innovation. We need creative minds and innovative ideas for Moldova to become more modern, more efficient and more competitive in today's world of technology, "said Maia Sandu.
