Moldovan president appoints Aureliu Ciocoi as acting prime minister
Chisinau, 31 December /MOLDPRES/ - I signed today the decree on the appointment of the acting foreign affairs and European integration minister Aureliu Ciocoi as acting prime minister. President Maia Sandu made public this announcement on the Presidency’s official webpage.
“In the conditions when the PM who resigned Ion Chicu refused to exercise the duties of acting prime minister, till the appointment of a new cabinet, the president, under the Constitution, appoints the acting PM compulsorily among the ministers. Today, I signed the decree on the appointment as acting prime minister of the acting foreign affairs and European integration minister Aureliu Ciocoi,’’ Maia Sandu wrote.
At a today’s news conference, Ion Chicu said that Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Olga Cebotari was to exercise the office of acting prime minister till the appointment of another acting PM.
