
Agreement with Romania on 100 million euro-assistance ratified
Chisinau, March 10 / MOLDPRES /- Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of Romania on the implementation of the technical and financial assistance program based on a financial aid amounting to 100 million euros was ratified today by the Parliament.
The financial aid is non-reimbursable and will be used for the implementation of projects that will contribute to the development of the Republic of Moldova. In particular, the areas of energy, transport, environment, infrastructure, small business, media independence, public administration reform, health, culture, tourism are targeted. Mostly, the funds will be channeled into regions - into villages, so that the money will bring direct benefits to every citizen.
The funds will be offered for a period of seven years, with the possibility of extension for another three years.
The agreement also involves the financial contribution provided by the Republic of Moldova, which may not be less than 5% of the eligible expenses for each project.
