Asset declaration filed by Moldovan president: one property, annual salary of 269,000 lei

The asset declaration for 2025, filed by President Maia Sandu, shows an annual salary of 269,000 lei, a single property owned since 2003 and a bank account containing 21,000 lei.

In addition to her salary, Maia Sandu received, last year, 154,057 lei in per diems for official trips abroad and 55,065 lei in payments for unused vacation days for the period 2020–2024.

At the same time, in the asset declaration, the head of state reported 67,190 lei as compensation for moral damages, an amount paid through a bailiff.

According to the asset declaration, Maia Sandu reported a single apartment with an area of 74.5 square meters, purchased in 2003, which stays the only property included in the asset declarations submitted since she has taken office as head of state.

As for savings, President Maia Sandu declared a bank account with a balance of 21,324 lei.

Maia Sandu became President of Moldova in 2020, being elected by popular vote at a general election. In the autumn of 2024, Maia Sandu was re-elected for a second presidential term.
