Deputy Prime Minister meets diaspora in Madrid

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi met with a group of Moldovan citizens residing in Madrid, and discussed recent developments in the Republic of Moldova and measures taken to support the diaspora.

The official emphasized that in 2024, due to close collaboration with the Spanish state, three important agreements came into effect, aimed to bring real benefits to Moldovan citizens. It is about: the Social Security Agreement; the Agreement on conversion of driving licenses and the Agreement on bilingual Spanish education – which offers more educational opportunities for young Moldovans in Spain.

The minister thanked the diaspora for the participation in the presidential elections and the constitutional referendum of 2024, noting that nearly 11,000 Moldovans voted in the 11 polling stations in Spain.
