DOC // Decision on election of speaker published in Official Journal
Parliament's decision on election of Igor Grosu as speaker was published in the Official Journal of the Republic of Moldova. The document confirms the results of the vote from October 22, 2025, in which deputies elected the new leadership of the Legislature.
According to Decision no. 262, Parliament took note of the report no. 5 and Decision no. 5 of the Special Commission for the Election of the President of Parliament, through which MP Igor Grosu was declared elected to this position.
"The election of MP Igor Grosu as Speaker is confirmed. This decision comes into force on the date of its adoption," states the document published in the Official Journal.
At the same time, Decision no. 261 regarding the establishment of the Special Commission for the Election of the President of Parliament was also published.
The commission was formed of deputies from all parliamentary factions, including the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM), the Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova (PCRM), the Political Bloc "Alternative", the "Democracy at Home" Party, and the "Our Party" Party. Among its members were deputies Artemie Cătănoi, Veronica Roșca, Petru Burduja, Andrei Godoroja, Igor Chiriac, Vasile Grădinaru, Liliana Iaconi, Alexandr Berlinschii, Alexandru Chițu, Dorian Istratii, and Ersilia Qatrawi.
According to the decision, the commission automatically ceased its activity on the date of the election of the President of Parliament, and both legislative decisions came into force on their adoption date.
The publication of the two documents in the Official Journal marks the completion of the legal procedure for electing the leadership of the 12th Legislature Parliament.
