
EU official on visit to Chișinău
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Vice-President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas began her official visit to the Republic of Moldova with a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussions focused on the European Union's consistent support for the Republic of Moldova in managing the economic and social effects of the war of aggression initiated by Russia against Ukraine. The European official reaffirmed the EU's strong support for Ukraine in the face of military aggression.
On 23-24 April 2025, Kaja Kallas is paying a working visit to the Republic of Moldova. This is her first visit to our country as a member of the European Commission, a position she assumed on 1 December 2024.
The visit program includes meetings with President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu, Prime Minister Dorin Recean, Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi and other officials.
The European official will also engage in dialogue with representatives of civil society and participate together with Popșoi in a meeting with young European ambassadors.
The visit will conclude with a joint press conference held by Kaja Kallas and President Maia Sandu.
