European Commissioner for Enlargement: On 28 September Moldovans will tell us path they want

European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos said today at national radio station show that the parliamentary elections on September 28 will represent a decisive moment for the future of the Republic of Moldova and European path. The official emphasized that, through voting, citizens will convey the direction they want for the country.

“September 28 is the day when the citizens of the Republic of Moldova will tell us the direction they want, what their decision will be. Democracy is precisely based on decisions,” said Marta Kos.

She mentioned that in recent years, Moldova has made rapid progress in the process of European integration but warned that the next 3-4 years will be crucial for maintaining the pace of reforms.

“The Republic of Moldova will be able to continue advancing towards the European Union only if it continues to deliver results. If this speed slows down, it will mean losing some of the results achieved,” specified the European official.

Marta Kos encouraged the citizens of the Republic of Moldova and recalled Slovenia's experience in the EU accession process.

Kos is paying an official visit to the Republic of Moldova on 3-5 September. During the visit, she will hold discussions with government representatives about reforms and the European path, have meetings with investors and entrepreneurs on the future of the economy, talk with journalists, influencers, and content creators and visit cultural and religious heritage sites.

This is Marta Kos’s third visit to our country. The last time, the official was in the Republic of Moldova from May 8 to 12, when she visited several localities in the north and south of the country.
