Government announces changes in leadership of e-Governance Agency and Agency for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre
Electronic Governance Agency (AGE) director Nicoleta Colomeeț will step down from her position, while Artiom Cociu will serve as acting director. At the same time, the employment relationship of Ion Crețu, deputy director general of the Agency for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre, is set to end on November 2, 2026, based on a request he submitted. The announcements were made at today's Government meeting.
Referring to the head of AGE, Prime Minister Vasile Tofan said that the changes also address the need to strengthen the security of electronic services.
“We will make certain changes. I believe it is important to make changes at the level of personnel as well. We agreed with Ms. Nicoleta Colomeeț, the director of AGE, that she would step down from her position, while Artiom Cociu will temporarily be appointed acting director of AGE,” the head of the Executive stated.
Tofan thanked Nicoleta Colomeeț for her work promoting electronic services, mentioning the EVO and MCabinet platforms.
“I believe that services such as EVO and MCabinet are exactly the type of services that popularize electronic services. Now, however, I believe we need to shift the balance somewhat—not so much toward promoting them, but toward their security,” the Prime Minister said.
According to Tofan, Artiom Cociu has the necessary profile to manage the issues in this field. The Prime Minister asked Nicoleta Colomeeț to remain involved in the coming period to ensure the continuity of processes while the existing problems are being addressed.
During the same meeting, Government Secretary-General Alexei Buzu announced the proposal to terminate, effective November 2, 2026, Ion Crețu's employment relationship in his position as deputy director general of the Agency for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre, based on a request submitted by him.
“I would like to thank Mr. Crețu for his teamwork within the agency and wish him success in his next professional step,” Alexei Buzu said.
