Moldovan parliament appoints Alexandru Musteața as director of Intelligence and Security Service

Chisinau, 2 June /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament has appointed Alexandru Musteata as director of the Intelligence and Security Service (SIS). The draft decision was backed with the votes of 54 MPs at a today’s meeting.   

Also today, Alexandru Musteata was sworn in office before the lawmakers. The new director was appointed for a mandate of five years.   

Alexandru Musteata is specialized in the fields of national security, European studies and political sciences. He studied in Moldova, Latvia and Belgium. Musteata has earlier worked in the non-governmental sector and till the appointment to the position of SIS director he was member of the Central Electoral Commission and chief adviser in the field of combating corruption in the office of the prime minister.
