Moldovan MPs to convene at plenary meeting on 8 May

The MPs will convene at a plenary meeting on May 8, to examine legislative drafts  concerning passports, energy efficiency and the evaluation of magistrates. The parliament’s standing bureau today approved an addition to the agenda of the meeting.

Thus, on 8 May starting from 10:00, the lawmakers are set to consider more major  projects in the first and second readings.

Among the subjects included in the first reading, there are drafts which address the circulation of new models of passports, identity cards and residency documents for Moldovan citizens, as well as for foreign citizens, stateless persons, refugees and beneficiaries of humanitarian protection.

Also, the deputies will discuss drafts facilitating the implementation of energy efficiency initiatives, supporting the digital economy and electronic services and partially ensuring state-guaranteed legal assistance. Another significant legislative initiative aims to remove legal and administrative barriers in the establishment of associations of irrigation water users.

In the second reading, the parliament will analyze drafts on the performance evaluation of judges and prosecutors, the organization of external evaluation commissions, the introduction of a state fee for lodging appeals, as well as amendments to the Law regarding the diplomatic service.

The agenda also includes the ratification of several financing agreements concluded with the European Commission.
