European Commissioner for Enlargement to visit Moldova
European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos will pay an official visit to f Moldova on May 8-12, 2025.
In a press release, the government informed that the visit took place in a symbolic moment — on the occasion of Europe Day — and reaffirmed the European Union's commitment to supporting the European path of Moldova.
During the visit, Commissioner Marta Kos will be accompanied by an official delegation, made up of MEPs Siegfried Muresan and Daniel Barna, as well as officials from the European Commission. The agenda includes a string of activities and meetings in several regions of the country.
On May 9, Marta Kos will participate in the ceremony marking the Victory Day over fascism and Nazism and commemorating the heroes of World War II, at the Eternity Memorial Complex, alongside President Maia Sandu, Prime Minister Dorin Recean and Speaker of the Parliament Igor Grosu. Subsequently, the Growth Plan for Moldova will be signed.
At the same time, the official will attend the public concert dedicated to Europe Day and will have discussions with civil society representatives, entrepreneurs and citizens on the Great National Assembly Square.
Marta Kos will also visit the Ungheni city, where she will participate in the inauguration of the European Village, an event dedicated to European projects that bring tangible benefits to local communities. The agenda also includes visits to local producers and discussions with agro-food entrepreneurs from Radenii Vechi.
On May 10 and 11, Marta Kos will visit Orhei, Negureni, Edinet, Balti, Comrat, Cahul, and Valeni. The European commissioner will interact with young people, teachers, local authorities, entrepreneurs and women leaders from southern Moldova. Also, EU-supported projects will be inaugurated — from educational centers and local producers' markets to agro-food hubs and UN-awarded tourism initiatives.
Marta Kos previously visited Moldova in early last February.
