Ambasadorul desemnat al Federației Ruse, convocat la MAE

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) today at 16:00 summoned the head of the Russian diplomatic mission in Chisinau, Oleg Ozerov. The decision was announced by the MAE after the head of the Intelligence and Security Service (SIS) had reported that MP Alexandr Nesterovschi was in the Transnistrian region under the direct protection of Russian special services.

At a news conference, SIS director Alexandru Musteata said that he had confirmed information regarding the involvement of the Russia's authorities, specifically the special services and the Embassy of Russia in Moldova, in aiding Alexandr Nesterovschi to evade national law enforcement bodies.

According to the cited source, on March 18 at 20:15, the day before the sentencing, Alexandr Nesterovschi was documented entering the premises of the Russian Federation's Embassy in Chisinau. Subsequently, on the morning of March 19, the lawmaker was carried by a vehicle with Russian embassy diplomatic plates to the Transnistrian region, where he remains under the direct protection of Russian special services.

The SIS head specified that, at the time of the sentencing of Alexandr Nesterovschi to 12 years of detention in a closed-type prison, he was already on the left bank of the Dniester.

The SIS leadership added that another element confirming Russia's involvement in protecting Nesterovschi was the fact that, although he had held Russian citizenship for some time, on the day of the sentencing, Russian government media sources actively promoted the news of him being granted Russian citizenship.

SIS points out that Alexandr Nesterovschi is part of the criminal network coordinated by Ilan Shor, who is also evading serving a 15-year prison sentence.
