Chisinau, 16 March /MOLDPRES/- Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office for the Transnistrian settlement process Franco Frattini will pay an official visit to Moldova on 26-28 March.
Frattini will hold talks with Moldovan officials and Tiraspol leadership, including both political representatives. At the same time, he will meet resident ambassadors of the 5+2 format.

Five agreements in the “eight-point package” were signed in November last year and three important agreements remain to be carried out in accordance with the 5+2 protocol in Vienna,” he said.
Frattini appreciated the progress made last autumn in the settlement process and welcomed the sides for their constructive approach and responsibility for the process. “Confidence gained through agreements implemented by the sides will make it possible for settlement. I look forward to finding out more during the visit, and to analyze how I can contribute to this goal,” he said.
The official aims to set a positive dynamics in the settlement process and implementation of the eight agreements. The documents include the free movement of people and vehicles over Gura Bacului-Bacioc bridge, which was recently opened.
This is the first visit by Frattini to Moldova as Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office for the Transnistrian settlement process.
