President's meeting with Romanian PM

Moldova and Romania support each other and are building a secure and prosperous European future together. This statement was made by President Maia Sandu, who had a meeting today in Chișinău with Romanian Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, on a visit to our country.

Maia Sandu said she discussed with Ilie Bolojan about energy interconnections, bridge and road construction, reducing waiting times at the border, and increasingly dynamic trade and cultural exchanges.

“Moldova and Romania support each other and are building a secure and prosperous European future together. Today in Chișinău, with Romanian Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan we discussed energy interconnections that strengthen us, bridges and roads that bring people closer from both banks of the Prut, reducing waiting times at the border, and increasingly dynamic trade and cultural exchanges,” Maia Sandu said.

The President highlighted that everything achieved together by the two states means more stability, more opportunities and concrete steps on the road to the European Union.

“Everything we achieve together – from energy and infrastructure to investments and jobs – means more stability, more opportunities, and for Moldova, concrete steps towards EU membership,” Maia Sandu said.

Romania's Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan visited our country today, marking his first visit to Chișinău after being appointed as Romania's Prime Minister.

Ilie Bolojan was welcomed in the morning by Prime Minister Dorin Recean at the Government and reconfirmed Romania's support for Moldova's European path.

Additionally, the two prime ministers later participated in the National Treasure Festival, held in the village of Horești, Ialoveni district.
