
European leaders expected in Moldova on Independence Day and Romanian Language Day
Following the invitation of President Maia Sandu, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk are expected in Chișinău on 27 August, Independence Day.
The three leaders, along with Maia Sandu will make press statements at the Presidency headquarters and later address the citizens during the concert dedicated to Independence Day organized on the Great National Assembly Square.
President of Romania Nicușor Dan will come to Chișinău on 31 August, on Romanian Language Day.
Through their presence, European partners reaffirm their trust in the Republic of Moldova and support for our European path.
Journalists are invited on August 27 to the Presidency headquarters, between 15:00 and 15:30, for the welcoming ceremony which will begin at 16:00. The leaders will give press statements at 16:50. The schedule for August 31 will be announced later.
