PM urges participants in DOR programme to keep connection with Moldova alive, strong, wherever they are

Prime Minister Dorin Recean and cabinet members have welcomed about 100 children, participants of the government-backed Diaspora*Origins*Returns Programme (DOR), at the government’s headquarters.

The PM welcomed the enthusiasm and optimism of the young people, noting that they could become promoters of European integration: "I encourage you to keep our connection with the country alive and strong, wherever we are. We, those in the country, along with those abroad, aim to work towards achieving the most important project for Moldova. We have a quite ambitious plan - by the year 2028, to be in the European Union," said Prime Minister Dorin Recean.

The young people simulated a government meeting, during which they proposed more ideas for various fields. At the same time, the children approved a project to put into circulation a coin with which the most active and creative participants of the programme will be rewarded.

After the visit to the government, DOR participants visited the Presidency and parliament. These activities are part of the 13th edition of the government-backed Diaspora*Origins*Returns Programme (DOR), a project dedicated to children and young people from the Diaspora, who maintain a connection with Moldova and is implemented by the Diaspora Relations Bureau.

This year, for the first time, the DOR programme was held in two sessions: August 4–13 and August 16–25, 2025, hosting a total of 200 young people. During ten days, the participants had the chance to discover the beauty and diversity of  Moldova and improve their Romanian language communication skills through cultural, educational and sporting activities.
