
Moldovan parliament speaker has discussions with young people from DOR programme
Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu today at the parliament welcomed the participants of the second series of the DOR governmental program – Diaspora. Origins. Returns (DOR). The discussion with the 100 young people, who arrived from 16 countries, was warm and friendly.
The speaker explained to the young people the role of the parliament, how a law is voted on, the progress made for the European integration of Moldova and shared his professional journey. Moreover, the young people, along with Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu and MP Mihail Druză, simulated a law adoption process with the main topic, Defending Peace.
Igor Grosu also emphasized the curiosity of the young people from the Diaspora to discover Moldova, noting that they are always welcome at home, in the country of their parents’ origin, and encouraged them to be active and involved in various activities.
“I encourage you to get involved in various activities – volunteering, charity, internships – that will help you in life, you will gain experience and confidence,” the parliament speaker stressed.
The DOR governmental programme has reached its 13th edition. For the first time this year, two series of DOR have been organized, to give more Diaspora children opportunity to discover their country of origin, the traditions and customs that define Moldovans as a people.
