Roman Rosca sworn in as Moldova's deputy PM for reintegration

Roman Rosca today was sworn in as Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, in the presence of President Maia Sandu and Prime Minister Dorin Recean.

President Maia Sandu said that the main mission of the new deputy prime minister was people's safety.

“Thank you for accepting this challenge. I thank Mr. Oleg Serebrian for his consistent and solid effort, in order to maintain stability in the country, preserve peace, and for all efforts to help our citizens on the left bank of the Dniester, especially during this complicated period we have gone through. Mr. Deputy Prime Minister, your principal mission is the safety of our people on both the left and right banks, and to provide safety, we must maintain stability, especially in the coming weeks and months, because we know the risks, the challenges, and the state's primary task is, first and foremost, the safety of the people, both on the right bank and the left bank,” Maia Sandu said.

Prime Minister Dorin Recean noted that the authorities have a ‘’pretty difficult, but achievable task of ensuring peace and security in Moldova.’’

“Welcome to the government. We have a pretty difficult, but achievable task of ensuring peace and security in Moldova, considering the situation in the Transnistrian region. I also want to thank Mr. Serebrian for ensuring balance during this difficult period and ensuring that Moldova is a peaceful country, a country that knows how to develop and prosper for all its citizens,” Dorin Recean emphasized.

Roman Rosca was earlier acted as lawmaker of Moldova’s parliament and chaired the Special Commission for Parliamentary Monitoring and Control over the Reintegration Policy. Previously, he worked at the Interior Ministry and was an advisor in the Chisinau Municipal Council.

The position of Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration became vacant after July 21, when Oleg Serebrian ended his mandate, having been earlier appointed as Moldova’s Ambassador to Turkey.
