Moldovan PM says government's investments, allocations of funds in Chisinau brought significant changes
The investments and allocations of funds made by the government of Moldova in Chisinau have brought visible and significant changes for citizens over the years, such as repaired roads, modernized hospitals, equipped schools and kindergartens, as well as major projects in the suburbs. Prime Minister Dorin Recean unveiled examples to this effect. He who assured that investments would continue, "in order to make the living of people of Chisinau better."
The PM emphasized that soon, with the help of European partners, 89 apartment block courtyards would be renovated and the largest energy efficiency programme in the capital, worth 6.4 billion lei, would be implemented.
"The government takes care of the people from Chisinau through compensations of invoices, allowances and social measures for those in need, and by modernizing the medical and educational infrastructure," said Dorin Recean.
In this regard, "in recent years, record funding has been allocated to universities and dormitories, and unprecedented investments have been initiated in schools," materialized through modernized cafeterias, free meals, including for middle school students, and modern furnishings and digital equipment.
According to the prime minister, the government is investing over 45 million lei in kindergartens and schools in the suburbs of Chisinau, 98 million lei in the modernization of school cafeterias and over 530 million lei in the modernization of universities.
Also, the Moldovan capital has benefited from the largest investment in the modernization of the medical infrastructure in the last 30 years, said the PM. Specifically, 300 million lei was invested in the modernization of the Emergency Medicine Institute, over 110 million lei - for the Timofei Mosneaga Republican Clinical Hospital, over 130 million lei - for the Mother and Child Institute, and over 32 million lei for the Gheorghe Paladi Municipal Clinical Hospital.
At the same time, a program to renovate apartment block courtyards was launched, with a value of 250 million lei in 2025, major investments were made in suburbs for water, sewage, repairs in schools and kindergartens, parks and sports fields, the prime minister also said. In the next four years, residents of 60 per cent of the apartment blocks from Chisinau will be able to regulate their own heat consumption.
Dorin Recean assured that investments would continue, " in order to make the living of people of Chisinau better."
"We want to continue the path of modernization and find even more resources to improve the lives of the people of Chisinau, where the local administration fails. For this, we need to keep Moldova on the right track," Dorin Recean added.
