Travel alert for Iran: authorities advise Moldovans to avoid travel to area

The Embassy Moldova in the Islamic Republic of Iran, based in Baku, warns Moldovan citizens to avoid any travel to Iran, due to increasing internal tensions and security risks in the region.

According to the cited source, individuals already in Iran are advised to contact the Embassy by phone or email, in order to report their location in case of an urgent evacuation.

Citizens can leave Iran by air on regular flights or overland through Turkey or Armenia. However, the land border with Azerbaijan remains closed, and evacuation through Azerbaijani territory requires prior authorization from local authorities.

For emergencies, citizens can contact the Consular Section of the Embassy at +994 50 228 51 35 or by email at consulat.baku@mfa.gov.md
