Guard of Honor celebrated 30th anniversary

Chisinau, June 22 / MOLDPRES /- The Guard of Honor of the National Army marks 30 years since establishment.

Press service of the Ministry of Defense said that the soldiers from the elite unit will be congratulated in a special ceremony at the end of this week.

The Guard of Honor is the elite unit of the National Army of the Republic of Moldova. Annually, the soldiers of the guard company participate in about 250 ceremonies, ensuring the state protocol activities, the accreditation ceremonies of the foreign diplomats and the handing over of the state distinctions.

In the company of the Guard of Honor are recruited young people with a height of 185-195 cm, good physical training, pleasant appearance, special secondary education. The daily training for the front and specialized training lasts 4 hours each.

The company was established by order of the Minister of Defense on June 22, 1992.
