Over 30 young people from Moldova, European Union member states and partner countries are taking part in the Youth Policy Forum with the subject, Youth for Democratic Resilience. The event is organized in Chisinau with the support of the European Union Delegation to Moldova.

Invited to the event, Marta Kos called on young people to get actively involved in the life of society and to defend democratic values.

“Be honest. Be open. Call things by their name. Be brave,” the European official told the young people present at the forum.

The discussions focused on the role of the new generation in defending democracy, combating disinformation and strengthening democratic resilience, including in the online environment, in the context of the growing challenges faced by European societies.

According to the European Union Delegation to Moldova, the event provides a platform for dialogue and exchange of experience between young people from different countries, encouraging civic participation and engagement in democratic processes.

The organizers emphasized that the voice of young people mattered and that through involvement, responsibility and courage, they can contribute to building stronger, better-informed and more resilient societies in the face of disinformation and other threats to democracy.
