British MPs in Chișinău: security and cooperation on discussion agenda

Strengthening security and deepening bilateral cooperation are on the agenda of discussions between MPs from Chișinău and a delegation of parliamentarians from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, on an official visit to the Republic of Moldova on March 1–3.

According to the parliament’s communication and public relations department, the delegation is led by Fabian Hamilton, Chair of the British Group of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, and includes members of the House of Commons and the House of Lords. The visit aims to strengthen inter-parliamentary dialogue and develop Moldovan–British relations.

At Parliament, the British officials are to hold meetings with Moldovan MPs, including Radu Marian, Chair of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The discussions will focus on political, economic and sectoral cooperation between the two states.

The visit agenda also includes meetings with representatives of the executive authorities. Thus, the British parliamentarians will hold talks with Minister of Internal Affairs Daniella Misail-Nichitin, as well as with the head of the Center for Strategic Communication and Countering Disinformation, Ana Revenco.

In addition, the program includes meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Audiovisual Council, addressing topics related to information security, combating disinformation and institutional resilience.
