Civil Aviation Authority issues warning on use of drones

Chisinau, 23 April /MOLDPRES/- The Civil Aviation Authority (AAC) issued a warning on the use of drones, and stressed that failure to comply with their operating rules could have serious consequences.

In recent years, the AAC reported several violations on the use of the drones, operating flights in the area of commercial air flights over crowds of people, infrastructure objectives and assets. According to the institution, in such cases, flight safety and aviation security, national security, the right to the protection of life and the health of citizens are jeopardized.

AAC noted that the use of the drones must ensure a level of safety equivalent to that of human crew. According to the Air Code of the Republic of Moldova of 23 March 2019, pilot flying can only take place with AAC permission. Also, the use of the airspace of the country for aerial photography and filming shall be carried out with the permission of the AAC and the mandatory opinions of the Ministry of Defense and the Intelligence and Security Service.
