District hospital of Taraclia to have cardiologist, ENT specialist thanks to financial donation provided by ARBOM
The Association for the Development of the Bulgarian Community of Moldova (ARBOM) and the Taraclia district hospital have signed a cooperation agreement, in order to enhance the hospital’s capacity to provide basic medical services to local residents.
The document stipulates that ARBOM will provide the hospital with financial support in the amount of 42,600 lei. For its part, the management of the medical institution will hire two physicians – a cardiologist and an otorhinolaryngologist (ENT). These specialists are currently absent at the Taraclia hospital, and residents of the town were forced to travel to other localities for the necessary specialists’ examinations.
Both doctors will have a special work schedule, set by the hospital’s administration, which will publicly announce the timetable for receiving patients.
“At meetings with people of Taraclia, one of the recurring topics of discussion was the lack of specialists at the town hospital. As a result, I discussed the matter with the head of the institution, Artur Covaci, in order to find a way to resolve the situation. The solution proposed by the hospital’s director was to bring in part-time physicians from Chisinau. They will come to Taraclia several times a month and provide the consultations needed by town’s residents,” said the ARBOM director, Alexandru Borimecicov.
For his part, Artur Covaci emphasized that, thanks to the donation provided by ARBOM, the medical institution would also be able to improve the quality of patient treatment.
“The Association’s support is an important contribution to strengthening the district’s public health system, which is facing a shortage of medical staff,” noted the director of the Taraclia district hospital.
